Privacy at a glance

Facebook Utils is designed to process information in your browser wherever practical. You do not need to create an account, and we do not operate a database of tool inputs or generated results.

The tools do not automatically load Facebook content. Facebook or Meta receives information only when you deliberately follow a Facebook link or use generated embed code on another website. Our hosting provider processes ordinary connection and security information when you visit Facebook Utils.

Who is responsible for your information?

WebUtilTools operates Facebook Utils and is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Privacy questions and data-rights requests can be sent to webutiltools@gmail.com.

Information we process

Tool inputs and results

You may choose files and enter Facebook URLs, captions, colours, layout choices, and other tool settings. These values and generated results are normally held in temporary browser memory so they can remain available while you navigate the site. They are cleared when the application session is reset, such as after a full refresh or tab closure, and are not saved to a Facebook Utils account or database.

Links you choose to open

Some results include links to Facebook or other websites. When you choose to open one, the destination may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, browser details, and referring page. The destination's own privacy terms then apply.

Site preferences

The site stores your light or dark theme preference in local browser storage. A functional cookie named sidebar_state remembers whether the desktop navigation is expanded or collapsed for up to seven days. These preferences are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Contact information

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, attachments, and associated email metadata. We use that information to respond, investigate reports, maintain appropriate records, and protect the site or legal rights where necessary.

Connection and security information

When you request a page, our hosting and security providers may process your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referring page, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and maintain availability and security.

Third-party services

Facebook and Meta

Facebook Utils does not load Facebook content or third-party scripts automatically. If you open a Facebook source link, or publish and load generated embed code elsewhere, Meta may process the destination, your IP address, browser information, referring page, cookies, and similar technologies under its own privacy terms.

Cloudflare

Facebook Utils uses Cloudflare for site delivery, hosting, performance, and security. Cloudflare may process connection, request, and security information on our behalf and may process information in countries outside your own.

Email

Contact email is provided through Gmail, a Google service. Google may process message content and metadata as the email provider when you contact us.

Links to other websites, including other Utils sites, take you to services with their own privacy practices. Their policies apply after you follow those links.

Advertising and analytics

Facebook Utils does not currently use advertising cookies or an analytics service. We may introduce advertising, including Google AdSense, in the future.

Before advertising technology is enabled, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated to identify the services and purposes involved. Where required, non-essential technology will be withheld until you make a choice through an appropriate consent platform.

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases as appropriate:

  • Legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving a useful website, and responding to ordinary correspondence.
  • Consent where the law requires a choice before non-essential cookies or similar technology is used. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligations where processing is needed to comply with applicable law or respond to a valid legal request.
  • Contractual steps when you ask us to consider or respond to a relevant business arrangement.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Information may be available to the service providers described above where needed to operate the site, provide email, or deliver a feature you choose to use.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce applicable terms, investigate abuse, protect users or the public, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

How long information is kept

Temporary tool state: Remains in browser memory only for the active application session and is cleared by a full page refresh.

Site preferences: The sidebar cookie expires after seven days. Your theme preference remains in local storage until you change it or clear site data.

Hosting and security: Records are retained only for periods appropriate to delivery, diagnostics, security, abuse prevention, and legal needs, subject to provider settings and applicable law.

Emails: Retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the enquiry, maintain relevant records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

International processing

Cloudflare, Google (as the email provider), and their infrastructure may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom or your country of residence. Where we are responsible for a restricted international transfer, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism. You can contact us using the address below to ask for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exceptions.

Right to object: Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that processing. We will stop unless there are compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the processing is needed for legal claims.

To make a request, email webutiltools@gmail.com. We may need enough information to understand and verify the request. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children's privacy

Facebook Utils is a general-audience service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly request or build profiles using personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us by email, please contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect the service and the limited information we handle. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send passwords, authentication codes, private account links, or other sensitive information by email or through tool inputs.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated when the site's processing changes, including before advertising or analytics technology is introduced. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the latest version took effect. Material changes may also be highlighted elsewhere on the site where appropriate.
